About the King of Gods

A respectful person is praised by the **King of Gods(Sakka, Deva-Raja).
In his previous life as a human being, he concentrated on perfecting 7 great aspirations:

1. He was filial to his parents.
2. He avoided harsh speech.
3. He respected his elders.
4. He did not engage in slander.
5. He was generous to all.
6. He was truthful and sincere in whatever he did.
7. He was not quick to anger. Whenever anger arose, it was quickly doused.

- Samyutta Nikaya 11.11, Vatapada Sutta

Through his own effort in perfecting these aspirations, he was reborn in Tavatimsa Heaven as the King of Gods.

**King of Gods: The King of the Realm of Thirty-three Heavens (Tavatimsa Heaven).
Commonly known as "Sakka", "Deva Raja" or "Ti Gong"for chinese(天公).

Of all the frangrances - sandal, tagara, blue lotus & jasmine - the fragance of virtue is by far the sweetest.
- Dhammapada, Chapter 4, Verse 55.
